A special meeting held at the Hall Monday October 12th 1970
To discuss the plans for the new Hall.

From the plans drawn up it was decided to accept plan C, when they are re-drawn they will be submitted to the County Planning Office. The committee will then advertise for tenders for the building of the Hall.
It was decided to have Marley tiles on the floor. The type of heating for the Hall will be decided upon at a later date.
The suggestion to have a door out of the kitchen will be left to the contractors.
There being no further discussion the meeting was closed

NEW HALL.
The quantity surveyor has given an estimate of £7,133. 14. 0d for the proposed new Hall. The plans will be submitted and brought before Magor and St Mellons at their next meeting which is being held on Tuesday next.
WHIST DRIVE.
Final arrangements for the Whist Drive were made. Mrs L Saunders will order and take care of the refreshments.
G Bibby will give a tin of tongue. Mrs G Roberts will give a prize and Councillor Watkins has promised a chicken.
Mrs D Prosser will make a request for tables from the Henllys Church.
A meeting will be held at the home of J Harris on Tuesday November17th to finalise arrangements and fold draw tickets.
OTHER BUSINESS.
It was agreed that flowers be sent to Mr P Saunders who is in hospital.
The request for the loan of china for the Spastic Society’s bonfire at Pensarn was granted.

NEW HALL.
As yet there have been no communication from Magor and St Mellons regarding the plans we submitted. If Mr J Harris is contacted before the January meeting then ha will call a special meeting.
WHIST DRIVE.
As yet the full amount taken at the Whist Drive is not available. The Grand Xmas draw took 325.9.0d, raffle in the Hall £4.15.0d
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PERTY.
It was suggested that this party be held on Saturday 23rd January. There will be no Father Xmas, but each child will receive a present.
OTHER BUSINESS.
In the October monthly meeting it was passed to purchased a new amplifier at a cost of £6 to 8.
This price is incorrect. The cost is nearer £30. It was passed by all present at this December meeting that Mr D Williams be asked to buy from Marks Newport a linear 30 watts with blueprints amplifier before 18th December, as it is urgently needed. Mr Williams is also to be asked to purchase some electric light bulbs.
