Geodesica is an OpenGL(r) cross platform Geodesic modelling program that is designed to make advanced geodesic construction fun and easy to understand. The program is quite sophisticated and can generate dual space frames in Quad-Edge mode. Struts and angles can be measured interactively with labels identifying the respective components. Unique sets can be generated for struts, hubs and cells, with each set being coloured individually. Component connectivity is printed to the Log Window. Geodesica also features a variety of envelopes from simple triaxial ellipsoids to eggs and superspheres. Vertices can be distributed over ellipsoidal envelopes using a pseudo-magnetic field where field strength is governed by a bezier curve. Essentially, there are a variety of strut construction algorithms that generate frames for any type of dome. Qualifications.

Geodesica is programmed in C++ using a modified version of the Wild Magic 3 graphics engine; the UI was built with the FLTK toolkit. Geodesica runs on Linux™ and MS™Windows.
