The UK Paint Horse Association (UK PHA) recieved its Official Charter from The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) in Novemeber 2001

The purposes of the UK Paint Horse Association are to :

  • Promote and stimulate interest in the Paint Horse by encouraging Paint breeding for conformation and ability;
  • Promote the Paint Horse as a breed;
  • Work with other recognised associations in the promotion of Coloured Horses, e.g. The British Skewbald and Piebald Association (BSPA);
  • Promote the Paint Horse through horse shows, pleasure and trail riding, racing and all other activities of same nature;
  • Promote Western riding and showmanship skills, working with other recognised associations, e.g. Western Equestrian Society (WES);
  • Promote good horsemanship and good sportsmanship;
  • Educate the public about the qualities of the Paint Horse and the American Paint Horse Association; and
  • Encourage membership at both regional and national levels

We believe that seeing these fantastic, athletic horses in action is one of the best ways to promote this versatile breed and we have member’s programmes in place which encourage and provide recognition for various activities throughout the year. Click on the Programmes section of this site (Left) for more details

In addtion to our shows and events we keep our memebers in touch with what is going on in the world of Paint Horses through our Quarterly UK Paint Horse Journal and PaintPoints newsletters. Click on the Journal section of this site (Left) for more details

We also have Regional Officers who work with their local members to help organise local get togethers and events
