UK PHA has a number of programmes to encourage and recognise members activities to promote the breed. High Points awards for both Senior & Junior Competitors. This recognises success of competing in the showring either Western or English - both Halter (in-hand) and Ridden. Based on the same points scheme used by APHA, owners and riders are awarded points based on their position in the line and the number of competitors in the classes they take part in over the season. The results are announced at the AGM held in late October/early November The Western Boot & Saddles Co. Ltd. - Ridden Challenge This award recognises the ridden achievement of Paint horses taking part in any Western ridden events during 2007. It is also be based on a points system which rewards the placing of a Paint in any recognised Western ridden classes. This is for members who prefer to ride out with their Paint rather than, or in addtion to competing in the showring. Based on the hours you spend in the saddle you can achieve Ride UK awards Medicine Hat Stock Horses - Best turned-out award Sponsored by the Fryer Family, through their Stud Medicine Hat Stock Horses this programme is to encourage and recognise competitors “Turning-out” both their horse and themselves to the highest quality. At our major shows during the year we ask our Judges to nominate, in their view, who was the best turned out. At the end of season, these results are collated and the “Best Turned Out” Cup is awarded at our AGM. UK PHA - Best novice / newcomer award To encourage those new to the show ring, UK PHA/APHA generously sponsors a Belt Buckle for the best novice / newcomer competitor and horse. This gives our novices something extra to shoot for in the show ring, when taking on those who are more experienced. UK PHA’s - Most improved novice A UK PHA Board award to recognise thenovice who has shown continuing improvement / dedication in the show ring. |
