Stainland in West Yorkshire is an ancient Saxon hill top settlement. Traditionally there was one road in and out of Stainland, today's B6112, with tracks down to Beestonley and Stainland Dene. The Manor of Stainland was in the Doomsday Book and within the lands and feudal control of the Lords Savile of Wakefield. |
