the centuries, many animals have aided in the development of mankind,
from transportation to labouring in our fields. However, few have
impacted our daily lives like that of the dog. From protector to faithful
friend. Throughout our history, he has stood alongside us!
Amongst the wide variety of breeds, one stands out. They have worked for us, fought for us, and died for us! They are strong and powerful, yet caring and gentle. |

This was Oscar, my German Shepherd. He came to us in Feb 2000 from the UK German Shepherd Dog Rehoming North East at the age of about 4 1/2 to 5 1/2 years old. After spending a day with him, his search for a good home was over. We took to each other instantly and he soon settled in to our home. Oscar passed away on December 30th 2004 after he lost his battle with joint problem which left him unable to walk or stand, however, don't feel sad. Even though he was only with us for a few short years; Oscar brought a huge amount of joy into our lives. He was my first German Shepherd, but not my last. In March 05 I once again contacted UK German Shepherd Dog Rehoming North East in search of a rescue dog. As with Oscar, my timing was spot on! Floyd had just come along and was looking for a good home. He's a 3 year old long haired German Shepherd dog. More details and a few photo's can be found lower down this page |

After the death of Oscar, I had short period without any dogs in the family however, when Floyd came along (March 05), I couldn't resist. Once again I went for a rescue dog from UK German Shepherd Dog Rehoming North East. He's 3 years old and quite a handful, especially early in the morning as he likes to play after his walk, however, by mid morning, he's ready to settle down and enjoy the day. As you can see from the photos, he really likes to help! |
