The mill will open its doors again on the weekend of Saturday April 4th to 5th and admission charges will remain fixed as in 2008. The mill is again open on Good Friday but the formal opening ceremony for the new season will be at noon on Saturday, April 11th, when Sir Richard FitzHerbert, of Tissington Hall, will officiate..
During the winter months volunteers have been working to get the windmill ready for the coming season and they will have ÔupdatingÕ training events at the mill on 7th and 15th of March. Anyone interested in becoming a volunteer at the windmill will be made most welcome and should contact Lynn Allen in the first instance (01773 715177).
Friends of Heage Windmill is a voluntary organisation set up to support England's only working six-sailed windmill with a stone tower. We mill our own stoneground flour from organic wheat which is on sale at the mill (when open), or at Belper Farmers' Market (held on the second Saturday every month).
