Beat the Clock

In the centre of Prague is an ornate clock, situated on one side of a square with many cafes and restaurants nearby.

All the tourists wait there to see the moving figures when the clock strikes the hour.

Well...

1. Most hours nothing happens.
2. When something does appear, it's crap.

This is all that you briefly see when the clock chimes at the top of the hour.

It really is not worth stopping: even if it's just 5 minutes to go.

Maybe stop if there are 3 or less minutes to go: just to laugh at those who waited for ages.

Money Exchange

Prague's shame are all of the money exchange shops that hugely overcharge. It is cheaper to go to a bank and pay a little commission.

This sign here is typical, but when you go to get your money, you do not get as much on the sign.

In the case of one British pound, the sign says you get 43.55 for your pound. In fact, that's how many units of their currency they would buy from you for one pound.

Be warned: it's a fiddle.
