Do you like panto? . . . . . . . . . . . We do.
In fact, we like them so much we presented one - in church - in January, 2004.
It was called "A Lad in a Manger"(by Michael Forster) and was great fun, for both actors and audience.
Based on the Christmas Story, it came complete with pantomime dame and "2x2-legged" donkey, and with all the usual audience participation.
This was our first show and it was so successful we presented another panto, called "Sinner Ella" (also by Michael Forster), in January, 2005.
This was based on the story of Cinderella (obviously), but with the down-trodden Ella finding freedom and self-respect after meeting a local celebrity - a Christian Band leader who is involved with social projects.
Our third panto, in January 2006, was "A Great Western" (by Lucy Moore) - a panto set in the Wild West and loosely based on the parable of the Good Samaritan. You can read a review of it HERE.
In January 2008, our latest Panto was "Sleeping Beauty" (by local author Sheila Bird), which was a great success. This is our first traditional panto, and the first we have done that did not have a religious theme. It was generally agreed to be our best yet - by performers and watchers.
