Rainbow Corner. This is the soundproof room in the south-west corner of our building where the under 5s in our Church Family meet during the 11:00 service.  It was built in early 2005.  Here we see work in progress to construct and glaze in the Norman (Romanesque) arch and clerestory window.

Place of Prayer

The Priory Church of St Laurence, Blackmore has been a place of prayer since at least 1160 when an Augustinian Priory was founded on the site.
Still evident is the cresset stone - unique to Essex - which illuminated the way the Priors took in the Middle Ages from the Cloister to offer prayer.
The west door shows Norman architecture of 1170 through which the people came to worship.
Today's pilgrims (our visitors) have the opportunity to light a candle and offer their meditations.
