An Online Community Newsletter published by the Pencoed Town Council
The Pencoed Town Council came into being in 1982 when Pencoed applied for and became a town, the previous council was called the Pencoed Community Council and previous to 1974 the Pencoed Parish Council. The Council now consists of 13 members (representing three Wards) and meetings are chaired by the Mayor, who is elected annually.

The Town Clerk, Mr Norman Davies
Mr Norman Davies, who has been Clerk to the Pencoed Town Council since 1996. He was also the Secretary of the Pencoed Playing Fields Committee (a Committee of the Coucil) from 1984 until 2002.

Councillor Eric Alford
Labour Member for the Hendre Ward of the Council. He served on the old Pencoed Community Council and has been a member of the Pencoed Town Council since its inception in 1982. He served has the Mayor in 1984/85 and again in 2000/01.

Labour Member for the Penprysg Ward of the Council. He was first elected onto the Council in 1987. He was Mayor in 1997/98 and he is Deputy Mayor at present.

Councillor Mike Gregory
Labour Member for the Felindre Ward of the Council. Mike served on the Town Council in 1983 - 87 retiring at this point because of business commitments. He was elected again in June 2004.
