Pencoed is well endowed with sporting facilities from sports fields and sports halls to a swimming pool and a bowling green.

Again Pencoed is particularly well endowed with places for people to meet at quite reasonable prices. These range from the Welfare Hall with a reasonable size dance hall to vestries of local churches and chapels.

The town has three large pubs and one fair sized hotel (there are two more hotels on the outskirts of the town). There are also three social clubs. Both pubs and clubs also provide meeting rooms for people to hire.

Pencoed is serviced by both road and rail. Buses provided direct services to Talbot Green, Cardiff and Bridgend. The local rail service provides direct services to Cardiff, Bridgend and Maesteg as well as linking to the national network through Cardiff or Bridgend.
