There are many organisations in Pencoed , which cater for a multitude of tastes and interests. Below we give a list of some of these organisations. Pencoed OAP Association An organisationcatering for the older citizens of our town (i.e. the over 55's). The organisation meets on a Tuesday afternoon in the Pencoed Royal British Legion Club, Hendre Road.
Pencoed Town Twinning Association An organisation dealing with the two Twinning links that the town has. The first and oldest link is with Waldsassen, a small town in Bavaria on the border between Germany and the Czech Republic. The other is the town of Plouzane near Brest in Brittany.
The Pencoed Contact Group An organisation catering for the needs of the disabled and house-bound of Pencoed. The Contact Group meets every Wednesday at the British Legion Club, Hendre Road.
The Pencoed Bowls Club For those who are tempted to play with their woods on the local green then this is the club to contact.
Pencoed Scout Group This organisation caters for a wide range of activities for boys and girls aged 6 to 25 years of age. The Group consists of Beaver Scouts, Cub Scouts, Rambler Scouts, Pioneer Scouts and Venture Scouts.
Pencoed Rugby Club Pencoed RFC's club house is situated on the eastern edge of the Felindre Road Rugby field, in what was "The Verlands", once one of the largest private houses in Pencoed. The Club was established in 1887 and for many years consisted of only the 1st and 2nd teams. Since the 1980's, the club has developed and now consists of numerous sections such as the mini team; youth team as well as the 1st and 2nd teams. Pencoed Mini and Junior Rugby Section Based at the Pencoed RFC at “The Verlands”, the Mini & Junior section was formed 1980, the club now runs age groups from under 7’s right through to under 16’s. Pencoed has one of the best records for feeding the welsh team with the likes of Wayne Hall, Scott Gibbs, Gareth Thomas, Gareth Cooper and Gavin Henson all coming from Pencoed RFC. Pencoed Players A group of local people who perform an Old Time Music Hall routine for charity.
Bridgend Credit Union The Bridgend Credit Union has a collection point at the Pencoed Welfare Hall every Tuesday morning. Here you can pay into your account or get help and information on loans, etc.
