The Scout Group is self-funding and costs in the region of £2,500 per annum to run the hall and the minibus. Our adult leaders devote much of their spare time running their section, meetings and activities and cannot continue without the support of our members’ parents and local community in our fund-raising efforts and in maintenance and upkeep of the hall and grounds etc.
Leaders are Adult Volunteers aged over 18 years together with help from the parents.
The movement always requires adult leaders and parent helpers particularly for our younger members in the Beavers and Cubs.
We currently have quite a large waiting list for all sections and are unable to offer further membership unless we have additional leaders, but if you have a child you wish to place on the waiting list please speak to GSL Pam Watkins 01656 862471
If you are interested in becoming a leader, or parent helper, or can lend support in any way, why not come along to the next AGM which will be held at the Scout Hut on Tuesday, May 1st at 7.30pm and give your support to those that are helping to keep the Scout movement going in Pencoed. If you are unable to attend but would still be interested in offering support please telephone GSL Pam Watkins on 01656 862471.
