On the 20th March 2001, five Pencoed residents opened a local collection point for the Bridgend County Credit Union. The collection point, at the Pencoed Miners' Welfare Hall, Heol-y-Groes, will be open every Thursday morning from 9.30am to 10.30am.
This savings and borrowing co-operative has been set up for the benefit of everyone who lives in Pencoed. Saving from as little as 50 pence a week for both adults and children, your savings will soon grow. With the children's saving accounts paying 5% p.a., the Credit Union makes an attractive home for their savings.
Loans are based on regular savings and can be applied for after a minimium of 13 weeks savings.
This collection point is run by volunteers, so if you can spare an hour or two a week, please come along and help out.
For more information regarding the Credit Union please contact Mrs. Rona Evans on Pencoed 861426 or, even better, why not pop along to the collection point in the welfare Hall on any Tuesday morning.
