A Walk along the Wood's Edge
A guide to the footpaths to the south west of Pencoed where they pass close by the edge of ancient mixed woodland.

By Ancient Mills
A guide to the footpaths to the east of Pencoed where they pass close by the sites of ancient watermills on the boundary of the town.

The Ridgeway Walk
This guide explores the footpaths to the north of Pencoed where they cross high common land with superb views of the Welsh mountains, Vale of Glamorgan to the coast and the town itself.
Pencoed has a fairly extensive system of footpaths - approximately 37 kilometres in all. The following articles were published in first three issues of "The Hyphen". For everyone's convenience each guide will begin at the monument. Clicking on the coloured sections of the map below will take you to articles on the footpaths in that area.

In July 2005 the Town Council published a small booklet describing the footpaths in the town council area. A copy of that booklet is to be found on this site as a PDF File.
