| Bruce, Robert
and Peter travelled to Dumfries for the Crichton duathlon
on 31st March. This race involved a four mile run, a
fourteen mile cycle and a two mile run. It was the first
time any of us had taken on an event with more than one
discipline, and as such, more a learning experience than
anything else; at least, that was what we thought until
the start! |

The start of the Crichton
duathlon in Dumfries on March 31st 2002. |
| Robert was the fastest
Galloway Tri overall, in 7th position, with the 2nd best
time for the first, 4 mile run on the day. |

 |
Peter bravely brought up
the rear of our intrepid trio, to take 15th place overall |
| Bruce produced a superb
bike leg to put him into 11th position. The picture shows
he can actually use his legs for something other than
powering his bike! |
 |
| All in all we
had a superb afternoon. The event was low key and
relaxed, but gave us all a good chance to see how we
would cope with a multi sport race. It certainly hasn't
put us off and hopefully we'll be back for the next
edition of this race in September with a few more club
members |
Thanks to Thomas for taking the
