CALDER VALE BRASS BAND

As the report published in the Preston Chronicle on the 2nd July 1862 indicates the band was formed shortly before then.
As can be seen from the engagement notices gleaned from the papers the band was active both in Calder Vale and the surrounding area up to the early 1890's. For a number of years other bands were engaged for functions in Calder Vale and then the band was re-formed

PH 26th May 1877 page 2: - At Woodplumpton the Druids engaged the CALDER VALE BRASS BAND.
PG 15th June 1878 page 10: - At Calder Vale the CALDER VALE BRASS BAND played.
PG 22nd May 1880 page 6: - Calder Vale Club Day had the CALDER VALE BRASS BAND.
PG 5th May 1883 page 7: Myerscough Club Day had CALDER VALE BRASS BAND leading the parade and later they played for dancing.
PCh 7th June 1884: Churchtown and Garstang on Monday had had CALDER VALE BRASS BAND AND ST THOMAS' TEMPERANCE FIFE AND DRUM BAND.
PCh 7th June 1884: At Calder Vale on Tuesday CALDER VALE AND CHIPPING BRASS BANDS had performed.

ENHALGH’S BAND played for the procession and later played for dancing in the evening.

LDP 19.8.19: Claughton Field Day and Peace Celebrations on Thursday 21st August. St THOMAS’ BAND and CALDER VALE BAND will be in attendance and there will be a large marquee with a boarded floor for dancing.
