The Dance Bands of Preston
This is a work in progress and a start was been made in recording the bands of the early eighteenth century. People dance before them at social gatherings to the fiddle and such and the better-off folk employed army bands to play at their functions and, so far as Preston is concerned, engaged bands from out of town.
