The PFA's Rally involvement with youngsters extends to the Air cadets......

...and a number of youngsters from local schools.
The first groups seen here being briefed for guided tours of the Rally.

The tour ends with a display of small model aeroplanes by the
British Model Flying Association.

The Rally was officially opened by Tony Banks,
the UK Minister for Sport, seen here giving his opening speech.....

As part of a European Community innitiative, a group of special education
youngsters from Sweden, building a full size plane as part of their education,
presented the PFA with two pedal powered aeroplanes they had built.

Some lucky person could win a full Private Pilot's Licence course,
£2500, or one of a number of other prizes in the PFA Raffle.

Of course, the Raffle is not the only source of prizes. Mike Wells (Right)
won a copy of NavBox for spotting himself in the company's Rally "Slide Show"
running on their stand in the Pavilion.

The Rally attracts aircraft of all types, from ex-military jets (foreground),
to flex wing Microlights (background).

All the air movements are controlled from the PFA's own control caravan
located at the edge of the runway.

An important part of the Rally for PFA members is the AGM.
As usual, this year's was well attended.
