Tenor: THIS PEAL OF BELLS
WAS ERECTED TO THE
MEMORY OF THE LATE
CANON KELLY THE
RECTOR OF ST. JAMES

The Bourdon bell is rung from the ground floor. The bell has a wheel and an iron horseshoe type headstock. It is impossible to measure the bell without a ladder. When the bell rings, the sound is magnificent - it sounds much heavier than it actually is.
