St.Gabriel’s Sunday School and crêche

Every Sunday during the 10.30 Parish Mass.

Our young parishioners (age 1-10) go into the Vestry Hall during the first hymn and are able to explore Christianity in their own way under the care of Ruth Irvine-Capel and volunteers.  Ruth is the vicar’s wife and a primary school teacher.  They have two children, Benjamin (4) and Anna (2).

The children gather and say short prayer and then are given a task relevant to the liturgy of the day, working individually or as a group.

There’s a crêche area for younger children - mothers are welcome to stay with their child if they prefer,  but group participation is always encouraged!

The school ends with a special hymn for the children and then they rejoin the rest of the congregation for the central part of the Mass, the Eucharistic Prayer. Father Luke very often shows the congregation what they have done after Mass.

If you would like to know more, just turn up on Sunday morning at 10.30 or contact the vicar.
