teacher for the music service, spending her week travelling in West Cumbria and teaching in both primary and secondary schools working with all ages, from 4 – 17. This includes rehearsing and performing shows and concerts of different styles.
Amanda is lucky enough to be one of the pianists who play at Mirehouse when the house is open to the public and regularly plays during dinner at a local hotel.
Amanda studied music at King’s College London and piano with Elizabeth Newson at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After training as a secondary school music teacher and working in High Wycombe she took a break from school to focus on her family but continued teaching the piano privately. Since moving to Cumbria 13 years ago she has explored the use of music technology in the classroom and currently works as senior keyboard
