THE HBA (HABITAT BIODIVERSITY AUDIT) HAS A COMPLETE FIELD BY FIELD AND BOUNDARY BY BOUNDARY RECORD OF THE WHOLE OF WARWICKSHIRE, THIS NEEDS CONSTANT TARGETED UP-DATING TO KEEP IT ACCURATE AS IT IS USED BY THE LOCAL AUTHORITY FOR MAKING ALL ESSENTIAL PLANNING DECISIONS!
Text Box: Hello.
I have lived in the parish of Stretton on Fosse for many years and been fascinated by natural history for as long as I can remember. Huge changes have taken place in the countryside putting ever increasing pressure on our natural world. Loss of habitat creates fragmentation and species isolation, this threatens the viability of populations and their very existence. Constant recording of our flora and fauna helps to monitor the health of populations and the diversity of species, not only locally but throughout the whole country.
We are very lucky in Warwickshire to have a team of active recorders for almost all forms of wildlife and this website would not have been possible without their assistance.
I would like to thank all that have given their time and knowledge to help me with identifications etc!
The biological records are kept at the county museum in Warwick and I am happy to say, I have made some interesting contributions from our parish.
My aim is to share these with you!
