Text Box: Butterflies in the Parish
Text Box: I have recorded over 20 species of butterflies in the parish and only one of these is missing from the ‘Species List’. The Purple Hairstreak is a small butterfly that spends all of its life in the canopy of large mainly Oak trees and is rarely seen at eye level making it difficult to find and photograph.
Text Box: Our Butterflies are as beautiful and varied as any tropical species and may we always be able to see them on our own doorstep!

DID YOU KNOW?

Butterflies smell with their feet!

Painted Lady and Red Admirals may have flown thousands of miles to reach our back gardens!

The longest living British species is the Brimstone!
