The allotment site is situated in Letchworth Garden City in North Hertfordshire. The Council operate five sites within Letchworth. These are Radburn Way, Pryor Way, Wilbury, Runnalow and Norton. My plot is on the Wilbury site.

When choosing my plot, I visited several of the sites, all of which had plots of varying sizes. I chose the Wilbury site for several reasons, the main one being it is within walking distance and would take around 20 minutes to get there. Other influencing factors which helped make the decision were the location of the water tap to the plot, the fact the site road went directly past the plot thus making it very easily accessible and most importantly, how welcome I was made to feel.

Within a week of getting the site, my neighbouring allotment holder offered me some parsnips. A very kind and extremely tasty gesture!
