Jill St John in Diamonds Are Forever Jill St. John
"I like Jill because she doesn't want to be an actress.
She wants to be a movie star."
- Lance Reventlow [ex-husband]
After roles in second rate adventure and espionage movies such as The Liquidator (1966), Tony Rome (starring Frank Sinatra, 1967), and The Spy Killer (1968), vivacious redhead Jill St. John eventually won the female lead in a good offering from the spy genre, when she played jewel smuggler Tiffany Case in Bond movie, Diamonds Are Forever (1971).
While she is being held captive aboard the villain's oilrig-based headquarters, the bikini-clad Tiffany picks up an enemy's machine gun and nervously sprays bullets around - hoping to help wreck the bad-guy's sinister plot, enabling the heroic 007 (Sean Connery) to save the day.

Jean Bruce Scott Jean Bruce Scott
She's guest-starred in various American TV programmes - such as: Knight Rider, St Elsewhere, MacGuyver and, notably, Magnum, P.I., where she played irregular supporting character US Navy Lieutenant Maggie Poole.
But her best action girl role was as Caitlin O'Shannessy, in the second season of Airwolf (1985-86), the great TV series about a hi-tech helicopter. Here she is unarmed, with her Airwolf co-star Jan-Michael Vincent.

Jewel Shepard Jewel Shepard
Although it was Linnea Quigley who ran around naked during most of The Return Of The Living Dead, it is Jewel Shepard (who had a minor role in the Dan O'Bannon film) who has made her reputation by taking her clothes off. It is interesting to note the O'Bannon originally offered the role of 'Trash' to Shepard, who declined because she had grown weary of such 'top-down' roles.
With films such as Zapped! and My Tutor under her belt, Shepard supplemented her income by stripping in Los Angeles clubs and starring in softcore pieces such as Christina and several 'Hollywood Hot Tub' movies. Her genre input began with Raw Force (in which cannibalistic cenobites cook up beautiful girls), and includes the aforementioned Return Of The Living Dead, Roots Of Evil, Scanner Cop II, and Caged Heat 2: Stripped Of Freedom (in which Shepard wields some impressive hardware).
As an author, the always hot and sexy Shepard has penned articles for magazines such as Premiere, and books such as Invasion Of The B-Girls and the story of her own life, If I'm So Famous, How Come Nobody's Ever Heard Of Me?

Sharon Stone
"She is incredibly stylish and sophisticated in a somewhat self-conscious way..."
- Richard E. Grant
Born in Pennsylvania in 1958, Sharon Stone was a model before turning to acting with typical blonde starlet roles. She played Lana Marcus in Wes Craven's rural mystery thriller Deadly Blessing (1981), and model Cassie Bascomb in TV movie The Calendar Girl Murders (aka: Victimized, 1984). Stone won leading lady status as archaeologist's daughter Jesse Huston, playing opposite Richard Chamberlain, in King Solomon's Mines (1985), and its sequel Allan Quatermain And The Lost City Of Gold (1987), based on adventure stories by H. Rider Haggard, but stardom proved elusive throughout 1980s, despite roles in Steven Seagal's debut movie Nico (aka: Above The Law, 1988) and TV miniseries War And Remembrance (1989).
It was playing treacherous 'wife' Lori, kickboxing Arnold Schwarzenegger out cold in Paul Verhoeven's sci-fi blockbuster Total Recall (1990), which finally got Stone noticed, while her starring role as abused nutcase Angie in Scissors (1991) led her to be cast as the potentially murderous Catherine Tramell in Verhoeven's Basic Instinct (1992), and sexy Carly Norris in the voyeuristic Sliver (1993). Then came Stone's revenge parts: as May Munro (opposite Sylvester Stallone) in The Specialist (1994), and as novice gunslinger Ellen, in Sam Raimi's cult western The Quick And The Dead (1995). She also starred in title role the enjoyable remake of Gloria (1999), in which she gets the drop on a roomful of gangsters.
Other notable film appearances include: Sally Eastman in Intersection (1994), gambling-mad Ginger in Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995), Cindy Liggett in Last Dance (1996), Nicole Horner in Diabolique (1996), Dr Beth Halperin in flawed SF mystery Sphere (1998), horsewoman Rosie in Simpatico (1999), Sarah Little in comedy The Muse (1999), and Candy in Picking Up The Pieces (2000).
Julie Strain in The Dallas Connection Julie Strain
Penthouse 'Pet' of the year in 1993, Julie Strain's career ranges from her purely decorative roles in Carnal Crimes (1990), Kuffs (1991), Night Rhythms (1992), Psycho Cop Returns (1993) and Ang Lee's Ride With The Devil (1999) - to writing, producing and directing Vampire Child (1991). She played a dominatrix in Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult (1994), appeared in Beverly Hills Cop 3 (1994) as 'Annihilator Girl' demonstrating new hi-tech weapons, and won the title role in genre spoof The Bare Wench Project (1999).
Her major roles in various movies from Malibu Bay Films include sexy assassins Blu Steele in Fit To Kill (1993), Jewel Panther in Enemy Gold (1993), and Black Widow in The Dallas Connection (1995), but she's graduated from bad-girl status to heroine as undercover agent, Willow Black, in both Day Of The Warrior (1996) and Return To Savage Beach (1998).
