A former stuntwoman, Pat Tallman played tough heroine, Barbara, in Tom Savini's creditable remake of Night Of The Living Dead (1990). She takes no prisoners and blasts the zombie hordes with a shotgun.

As mute rape victim, Thana, she played a terrifying 'angel of vengeance' in Abel Ferrara's Ms .45 (1981), on a random killing spree in New York. At one point, she's dressed up as a nun with an automatic pistol hidden under her habit, strapped to her thigh.

Amanda was born in Rochford, Essex, England but raised in Toronto, Canada. She graduated from the University of Windsor School of Dramatic Art. After graduation she co-founded the Canadian comedy troupe Random Acts and performed sketch comedy in small venues around Toronto including the New Ideas Festival and Tarragon Spring Arts Fair. On stage, she starred in Steel Magnolias and The Lion In Winter at the legendary West End Theater. Amanda has gained worldwide fame as character Major Samantha Carter in Sci-Fi Channel's Stargate SG-1 (1997) produced by MGM. Originally a Showtime production, Stargate still runs in syndication. In 1996 she starred in the movie, Flash Forward playing Ms Yansouni. She has also appeared in such diverse movies as Danielle Steel's Remembrance (1996), and Booty Call (1997), and has also guest starred on episodes of The Outer Limits and The X-Files.

After a brief tenure on grand TV space opera Babylon 5 as one of the psi corps investigators, she moved back in time and down to earth to play much troubled detective Jill Kirkendall, one of the best supporting characters in later seasons of acclaimed TV cop show NYPD Blue.

She played freelance hit-woman Irene Walker, who gets involved with the Mafia, in John Huston's black comedy Prizzi's Honor (1985). Later, she played title heroine in movie, V.I. Warshawski (1991), about a private detective in Chicago, based on books by crime novelist Sara Paretsky.

Played deceitful dream girl, Jewel, who shoots her con-man boyfriend, and has a two-gun standoff when she gets the drop on a hitman (Michael Douglas) hired to kill her, in black comedy One Night At McCool's (2001).
