DETAILS-HERE Deborah Van Valkenburgh
She played the hero's girlfriend, Mercy, in The Warriors (1979), and later played the hero's sister, Reva, in Walter Hill's "rock 'n' roll fable" Streets Of Fire (1984).
Leonor Varela in Blade 2 Leonor Varela
Chilean-born model turned actress who played Cleopatra in the 1999 TV movie, before tackling role of ninja vampire Nyssa Damaskinos, fighting against mutant hordes in Guillermo Del Toro's futuristic horror thriller, Blade II (2002), alongside the heroic Daywalker (Wesley Snipes).
In the film's main action scenes, she uses hi-tech machine guns to hunt down and slay her monstrous enemies throughout the dark city's drainage tunnels.
Roberta Vasquez Roberta Vasquez
Playboy's Miss November 1984, stunning Hispanic model Roberta Vasquez is a former California state trooper who played villainous Pantera in Andy Sidaris' Picasso Trigger (1988), and had a supporting role as policewoman Heather Torres in Clint Eastwood's The Rookie (1990), before taking over from Hope Marie Carlton as Dona Speir's partner in four more Sidaris adventures about undercover federal agents. Her sexy character, Nicole Justin, appears in Guns (1990), Fit To Kill (1993), Do Or Die (1991) and Hard Hunted (1992).
Vasquez also played a dominatrix (punishing G. Gordon Liddy of Watergate infamy!) in psycho-thriller, Street Asylum (1990).
Monica Vitti in Modesty Blaise Monica Vitti
Strangely aloof yet exuding sexuality, Monica Vitti trained at Rome's National Academy of Dramatic Arts. She made her first film in 1954: Ridere Ridere Ridere. Other films followed, such as L'Avventura (1960), La Notte (aka: The Night, 1961), and Red Desert (1964).
In 1966, Vitti had an opportunity to break into Hollywood movies with Modesty Blaise, which was based the popular comic book created by Peter O'Donnell. Literally a female equivalent to James Bond, Modesty Blaise first appeared in the Evening Standard in 1963. Even though the film was not a hit, there are rumours that a new Modesty Blaise film is in the works, with Quentin Tarantino - of all people - scripting a draft. If you remember, Vincent Vega (John Travolta) is reading a Modesty Blaise book while sitting on the can during Pulp Fiction.
Vitti worked mostly in Europe during the 1970s and early 1980s, with her strongest performance coming in 1974 with Le Fantome de la Liberte. In 1989, she scripted, directed, and starred in Scandalo Segreto (aka: Secret Scandal).
