     William was born at 59 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 10 October 1902.1,2 He was the son of George Mair and Margaret Mair. William James Mair was baptized on 27 December 1902 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.2 His family was known by the tee-name of "Bobbin".3 He was a fisherman. He married Williamina Slater in 1937.1,2 William James Mair died on 7 May 1980 at Elgin, Moray, Scotland, at age 77.4,2
