     Alexander Nicol was born illegitimate on 19 December 1849 at Stonefolds, Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He was the son of Francis Nicol and Agnes Cheyne. Alexander Nicol was baptized on 14 January 1850 at Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1
