     Alexander Pirie was born on 5 April 1862 at Parish of Seafield, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of William Pirie and Jane Gray. His family was known by the tee-name of "Buxer".
He was listed as head of household's son in the 1871 census at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland. Those recorded in the household were: William Pirie, head; Jean Pirie, wife; Margt Pirie, daughter; Isabella Pirie, daughter; William Pirie, son; John Pirie, son; Alex Pirie, son; David Pirie, son; Jean Pirie, daughter.3

Alexander was blind and known as "Blind Sanee."2 He was the informant for, and present at, Jane Pirie's death at 206 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 8 August 1910.5,2 Alexander died on 22 April 1932 at Banff District Asylum at age 70.6,2 He was buried on 23 April 1932 at Cullen Cemetery, Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.7
