He married Jean Wood at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 10 March 1867. He was the informant for Alexander Wood's death at sea, off Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 22 November 1887.3,4 George Wood died on 22 March 1931 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 87.5
