     John Wood was born on 8 July 1836.1 He was the son of William Wood and Ann Bruce. John Wood was baptized on 10 July 1836 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "Doo". He was a fisherman. He married Elspet Mair at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 12 February 1859.2,3 He was the informant for Margaret Wood's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 9 March 1890.4 John Wood died on 27 December 1895 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 59.5,3 He was buried after 27 December 1895 at Cullen Cemetery, Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.5
