William Flett was born illegitimate on 13 August 1869 at Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of James Flett and Jessie Campbell. William Flett was a fisherman. He married Catherine Wood at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 9 September 1893.2 William died in November 1914 at at sea at age 45.3 He was buried in November 1914 at Hillhead Cemetery, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.3
