He married Isabella Wood at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 26 September 1884.4,5 He was the informant for Catharine Pirie's birth at 146 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 14 November 1884.6,5 He was the informant for John Pirie's birth at 146 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 15 January 1887.7 He married Margaret Mair at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 4 July 1892.8,3,9 He was the informant for, and present at, Margaret Wood's death at 401 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 18 December 1913; (It is suspected that the mother's name, Margaret Murray, in the death registration is an error and that it should be Margaret Smith. Hence this may be Margaret Wood #2358).10,3 James died on 24 April 1943 at 28 Park Street, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 80.11,9
