Alexander Sclater was also known as Alexander Slater. He married Helen Mair at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 15 October 1853.4,5 His family was known by the tee-name of "Mash". Alexander Slater is reputed to to have created the tee name "Mash", declaring that it stood for Mr Alexander Slater "Hasser." He married Helen Mair at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 4 July 1881.5 Alexander died on 25 November 1911 at 230 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 82.5
