     Alexander Mair was born on 31 July 1868 at Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of John Mair and Margaret Wood. His family was known by the tee-name of "Johndie". Alexander Mair was a fisherman. He married Elsie Mair at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 8 December 1893.3 He was the informant for, and present at, Helen Mair's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 22 November 1903.4 The Buckie and District Directory for 1925 shows that Alexander Mair lived at 7 Seafield Street, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.5 Alexander died on 7 March 1944 at 7 Seafield Street, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 75.6,3 He was buried after 7 March 1944 at Hillhead Cemetery, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.6
