David Pirie was born on 22 September 1825.1 He was the son of George Pirie and Margaret Flett. David Pirie was baptized on 1 October 1825 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "Skipper". He was a fisherman. He married Ann Mair at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 17 October 1857.2 He was the informant for, and present at, George Pirie's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 6 January 1882.3,4 He was the informant for John Pirie's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 5 January 1892.5,6
