James Wood was baptized on 10 July 1835 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "Wilkin". He was a fisherman. He married Helen Pirie at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 28 February 1857.3,2 He was the informant for Margaret Wood's death at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 14 September 1875.4,5 He married Helen Cowie at Parish of Seafield, Banffshire, Scotland, on 8 October 1875.6,7,5 He was the informant for, and present at, Joseph Wood's birth at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 14 October 1877.8
