John Wood was baptized on 22 January 1851 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "Royal". He was a fisherman. He married Ann Mair at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 3 April 1874.3 He married Isabella Pirie at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 14 January 1876.4,3,2 John died on 17 March 1895 at Chalmers Hospital, Banff, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 44.2
