William Wood was born on 1 January 1779.1,2 He was the son of James Wood and Katharine Wood. William Wood was baptized on 3 January 1779 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "King". He was a fisherman. He married Jane Donaldson at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland, on 15 February 1800.3 William Wood died in 1856.2
