Margaret Pirie was born circa 1834.1 She was the daughter of John Pirie and Isabella Harper. Her family was known by the tee-name of "Buxer". She married George Reid Topp at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 2 November 1858.2,3,1 As of 2 November 1858, her married name was Margaret Topp. Margaret Pirie died on 28 December 1874 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.4
