James Anderson was born on 13 February 1842 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of George Anderson and Jean Mair. James Anderson was baptized on 26 February 1842 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "Coy".2 He was a fisherman. He married Helen Garden at Seafield Church, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 21 October 1865.3,4 He married Margaret Pirie at 45 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 21 September 1880.2,4 He was the informant for, and present at, Margaret Pirie's death at 45 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 11 November 1895.5,4,2 James Anderson died on 5 January 1912 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 69.2
