     James was born at Treeroot, Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, on 28 December 1823.1,2 He was the son of James Cheyne and Isabella Horn. James Cheyne was baptized on 2 January 1824 at Parish of Fyvie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.1 He died on 22 November 1911 at age 87.2
