     Mary Wood was born on 29 August 1863 at Parish of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland. Although the IGI only has a birth record from Seafield, it is assumed that Mary Wood was born in Peterhead along with George Wood, for whom there are birth records from both Peterhead and Seafield.1 She was the daughter of Adam Wood and Jane Wilson. Her family was known by the tee-name of "Wilkin".
