     Joseph Mair "Shanker" was born on 14 May 1903 at 227 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland.1,2 He was the son of James Mair and Margaret Ann Wood. His family was known by the tee-name of "Shanker". He married Catherine Ann Wood at 139 High Street, Elgin, Moray, Scotland, on 30 November 1928.2 Joseph died on 18 December 1934 at Slack Villa, Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 31.2
