     John Mair was born on 25 March 1854.1 He was the son of George Mair and Helen Bruce. John Mair was baptized on 2 April 1854 at Parish of Cullen, Banffshire, Scotland.1 His family was known by the tee-name of "Bobbin". He was a fisherman. He married Helen Slater at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 5 April 1878.2 He was the informant for, and present at, Helen Bruce's death at 246 Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, on 25 April 1908.3,2 John died on 30 May 1940 at Portknockie, Banffshire, Scotland, at age 86.2
