Meg of Achnacarry

Grey Mare Born May 1984 Sire: Glenaylmer Dam: Julie of Lundie

Meg was born on 12th May and is home bred. The day she was born I decided she was the most perfect foal I had ever seen and she didn't disappoint me when she grew up. She won numerous prizes as a foal, yearling, two year old three years old etc. She also did well at the Royal Highland Show as a three old winning the Barrie Perpetual Trophy for best three year old filly bred by Exhibitor. As an adult she won many Championships and I have had great fun with her both showing and riding. As I enjoyed riding her she hasn't bred many foals in fact she has only had two foals both of which are still alive. Her first foal was Kirsten of Achnacarry by Macbeth of Gleneagles and is now with the Burns family in Pennicuik. Her second foal was called Craigiebrig Islay by McCallum of Inverdarroch. I transferred Meg to Tim after he lost Ailsadene thus explaining the change of Stud name. However due to a bad hind foot abscess which left her permanently lame Meg has now been retired and we hope to breed some more foals from her.
