Unique Country Walks.

There is a lot to see around the countryside if only we would stop and look around us. Next time you are out walking, feast your eyes on the verges and into the hedgerows. Depending on the time of year, you will see many different kinds of wild flowers. There are Honeysuckle, Dog Rose, Primrose, Fern, Poppies, Cranes bill, Blackberries, Foxglove and many others. Different seasons bring different plants.

But there is also something else, which is a little less obvious.

We’ve all done it as children. I call it “The Art of Seeing”. I am sure many of us have seen faces in the curtains or in the fire. On many a stormy night, my imagination ran riot and I would bury my head under the blankets in fear as I saw the head of a ghostly figure or gargoyle staring at me.

As I got older whilst studying art, I found myself looking at certain objects outside the home in numerous different ways. On woodland walks I would pick out different shapes in trees and bushes a pastime I indulge in even now. My family think I am weird, but so what, everyone has their own funny little quirks. It is with this thought in mind that I would like to share some of these weird and wonderful pictures with you and the children of today.

With the help of a little bit of imagination and some of the walks which I have devised below, I can take you on a trip into a land of make believe. Or is it make believe? I will leave you and your children to decide:
